Presentation

How should we do our presentation? Does anyone have any creative ideas? Just throw your ideas out, they don't have to be "good." We can discuss them here and decide.

  1. Well, I liked ther wordle idea. We could use the quotes from "Macbeth." I think with that though, we will need somesort of something else. I don't know whether that should be something oral like a skit or a powerpoint that we discuss. I think a lot of people however are in agreement about the wordle idea.

  2. I was messing around on wordle and if we try to one with who says "bloody" they combine Lady Macbeth and Macbeth. It does look cool though.

  3. I love the word cloud. I think it's awesome. What we could do is have like the line before/after the blood word itself included, for example, "gouts of blood" - so by the end of it, blood, bleed, bloody, etc will be huge but all those little words will be there too. Just as a backdrop or something, then we can each talk about who says it and why and all that jazz.

We could even make a separate word cloud with the character's names, and whoever says it the most will have the biggest text, if that makes sense. That might be a nice visual when we go into explaining more about the characters' use of the word.

  4. I think that's a cool idea Melanie. Would we put this in a powerpoint or something with our information, or would it be seperate. I don't know whether we have to have somesort of oral thing and a visual or just one or the other, but if we put it into a powerpoint of some description, we could pretty much meet any sort of requirements Smith has.

  5. It is official that we will do 2 wordles. One will have the characters names and the other will have the quotes.

  6. We will use a powerpoint. The powerpoint will include 2 wordles and our information based on why Shakespeare uses. This is still in the planning stages.

  10. That's okay Margot. Did you get a google doc I sent you? Today we pretty much discussed how we are going to present and began working on wordles and a powerpoint. You, Eric, and Melanie still need to decide whether you would like to present literal meaning, why Shakespeare uses blood, or the wordles. Melanie is going to most likely send us some stuff on wordles and the powerpoint later tonight. Hope you feel better soon!

  11. Alright so I've got an outline for the powerpoint and I just spent about two hours creating an animated wordle using GIMP... and now it doesn't want to fit into Powerpoing. SO. I'm still working on compressing that and getting it to work, hopefully it'll work, because if I do say so myself it's pretty sick. I'll try to email you guys what I have on the powerpoint and see if the information on there is sufficient.

Oh, and I DID manage to animate the character wordle... hey, gotta be different right? :P

  12. that's cool Melanie thanks so much. I can't wait to see it. Did you want me do do anything in terms of a works cited?

  13. I don't THINK it would need to go on works cited. GIMP is a downloaded program I used to create the thing, it's like... word basically. Just a tool to create the thing.

  14. sounds good, I'll create a list of sites we used and can create the works cited tomorrow night.

  15. Everything looks great guys! There is a good chance that I will be out sick again tomorrow. Thanks for your understanding. I have a comment on the meaning of blood in the book. I always saw it more as a symbollic representation of guilt. If you wanted to add that thought to the power point, I would appreciate it. If I am out sick again tomorrow, I might be able to skype in through Melanie's laptop. I will text Eric tomorrow if I can make that work. I can also IM you guys during class in order to contribute. I will let you know. Thanks again!
